Welcome to your astrological forecast for the Aquarius season. A sign known for its love of the collective and for revolution, Aquarius– like Capricorn– is co-ruled by Saturn and Uranus, creating opportunities to both radicalize and rebuild. With the New Moon on the first, we should be mindful of our intentions and manifestations, especially with regard to the ‘bigger picture. Weekly Moon Phases
January 16-19th: The Full Moon lands in its home sign of Cancer on Sunday 19th January, calling us to get cozy, cook our favorites, and nurture ourselves and others.
January 20th-22nd: We will be in the Full Moon period until approximately Wednesday, feeling a little more outgoing and confident mid-week due to the moon shifting into fun-loving Leo before we move into the Waning Gibbous phase in Virgo. This is a week generally focused on nurture – make sure you look after yourself as well as others.
Planetary Zodiacs
Sun: An Aquarian Sun is a sign of the weird, the intellectual, and the outsider, so our self-expression may feel off this season as we embrace this Uranian energy.
Mercury: Mercury is back in Capricorn thanks to its ongoing retrograde, meaning our communication style may become more practical; focused less on matters of the heart and more on logistics.
Venus: Planet of love and compassion, Venus is also in earthy Capricorn, and will be until March 2022, with the Venetian retrograde keeping the planet firmly grounded in this no-nonsense sign.
Mars: Warrior planet Mars is also in Capricorn, meaning three of the personal planets are in the Zodiac’s most focused sign: we are driven, motivated, and ready. An Aquarian twist means we’re doubly motivated to shake things up, so there’s no time like the present to consider practical steps to push on with our personal journeys.

Sun Square Uranus:
The Sun– representative of the Self and identity– is squared by the planet of surprise, shock, rebellion, revolution, and technology. This predicts tension between the Self and our expression, finding we may speak before considering the consequences or experience an urge to speak our minds regardless of the impact on others. Try to be careful with your words and remember, empathy is always in fashion, regardless of the season.
Moon Square Uranus:
Uranus is dominating astrology this week, as the planetary rebel squares the Moon, the celestial body that rules our inner worlds, emotions, and illusions. There could be unforeseen, dramatic emotional ups and downs this week, meaning it’s best to ride the waves of emotions and not get too caught up in it; Uranus is disruptive and surprising! Remember that all emotions are normal and uncontrollable – what we can control is how we respond to them.
