Asteroid B-612
Written by Faye Allego, one of our poetry writers, and edited by Amber Spalding, one of our editors!
with no perception of time
I layed there and inhaled cans of turpentine
displayed my love like a colourless mosaic
I don’t know how else to say it
a voice buried six feet deep
at the back of my mind
lingered as I severed the hitch-
my universe glitched
easily replaced and nothing was left but grime
paintings of roses with ivy leaves and vines
came to life, then suffocated every time
after time, eroding into a faceless dime
am I saved? do I escape?
an asteroid of solidified dust
with a fox to navigate
with no perception of time
I sit here with an estranged soul
seeking to wander the oblivion
or find out what makes a heart whole
two become one, fire within the sun
who knew an asteroid formed into a planet
would be so much fun?
